My story

Hello, fellow video editors. Chris Cook here. I just felt like talking a bit about myself, and so, I created this page, to say hello, and meet y’all.

Well, circling back to video editing- this was not the first career path I chose. Perhaps, the career path chose me, and not the other way around. I started as a curious mathematician, studying for a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, and eventually fell in love with editing.

In my grad years, I used to help my YouTube creator friends by:

• writing stories for their vines
• scripting their videos
• being their go-to director
• and video editing using Filmora and iMovie

And my interest kept growing, so much so that after graduation, in 2017, I went for a journalism degree (love myself for this decision).

Cut-to-today, I work with a famous news website and edit their videos four days a week, also managing my side-hustle as a freelance editor and this website’s admin/founder/author/everything.

My mission

I don’t wish to change the world through video editing, but I certainly believe in giving power to those who deserve it. And video editing is that power!

It fills me with joy to see my students make the most of their learnings and create stunning videos that reflect their stories, emotions, expressions, and experiences- ALL AT ONCE!
